try and guide joe through all 5 levels of this super mario bros style platform game without losing all your lives to the drops and the baddies. only the very best will make it!

move joe with the left and right arrow keys on your keyboard. press the space bar to make him jump. also use the space bar to swim when you are in water.

you start off with 3 lives. you lose a life if you fall off the screen by either falling down a never ending drop or by going too deep inside water. you also lose a life if you get hit by anything. this includes walking into any of the creatures you come across. however, if you jump on their head, you will kill them but not yourself. this will not work for the fishes. each level has a time limit (see the clock at the top middle of the screen). if this runs out, you lose a life. the amount of lives you have left is shown at the top left.

you gain an extra life for every 50 coins you collect. to collect a coin, just walk or jump into them. the amount of coins you have collected is shown at the top right. if you lose a life, you go back to the start of the level. however, each level has a save point. when you walk past a flag pole, the flag will raise. this means if you lose a life, you only get sent back to the flag. if you lose all of your lives, you are sent back to the start of level 1.

to finish a level and move onto the next one, just walk into the door when you find it.

the game window must be in focus otherwise you will not be able to move joe. if you find you cant move him, just click anywhere inside the game. if the game runs slow or jerky, try closing any other programs you have open.
